I am a historically-oriented political theorist and political economist, working primarily on North America and Western Europe since the end of Bretton Woods. I co-founded and work as a director at Dezernat Zukunft, a Berlin-based macro-finance think tank, where I focus on questions of economic sovereignty. Before this, I worked primarily in academia, with a PhD from Yale and research positions at the Royal Academy of Belgium, the Institute for Socio-Economics in Duisburg, and the New Institute in Hamburg. My work has appeared in History of Political Thought, Critical Historical Studies, the Financial Times, Project Syndicate, Jacobin, Phenomenal World, The Guardian, Die Zeit, and Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, among other places.
